‘There Is Nothing Wrong with Me’: The Materialisation of Disability in Sheltered Employment

This article explores the lived experiences of disabled men and women who work in sheltered employment. Specifically, it analyses how entanglement sociomaterial practices affects workers’ co-constructions disability. Theoretically grounded posthumanist performativity theory, shows embodied employment within organisational spaces contribute to materialisation Findings emerged from ethnographic participant observations interviews with management workers at a workshop. The data highlight bodies, space, objects discourses materialisations disability ways that appear more inclusive than mainstream However, these remain embedded productivity-oriented logic.
